5 Holiday Activities Near Encinitas

The holiday season is always fun, but it can be more exciting to find places to spend your weekends at! Encinitas and the surrounding San Diego area are known for providing the community with lots of holiday fun and places to go. If you live near the Encinitas area, consider checking out these great holiday places with your family this year and support your community.

Holiday Shopping

Whatever holiday you celebrate, there are plenty of places to pick up presents! Visit downtown Encinitas or Downtown San Diego to cross family members and friends off your list. The Fashion Valley Mall has many different stores to choose from, or you can check out the Del Mar Highlands Town Center in Carmel Valley.

Outdoor Holiday Fun

Looking to spend some time outside with your family? Check out the ice skating rinks by the ocean in San Diego! Not only will you and your family have an incredible view, but you can also show off your ice skating skills. Visit Skating by the Sea to experience this. 

Festivals 

There are quite a few holiday festivals this year! Head to San Diego to experience the spirit of the holidays at the Liberty Station Hanukkah and Menorah Lighting Ceremony. Or, visit Poway’s Christmas in the Park on the 11th of December. Take the whole family there to have holiday fun and train rides, as well as great food! Live music and a theatre production will be present.

Parades

If you want to attend a parade, there are a few to choose from! Visit the Encinitas Parade on the 4th of December along the Coast Highway 101. Or, check out the Port of San Diego Bay on December 12th and 19th to see the waters of San Diego Bay and all of the beautifully decorated boats in the harbor.  La Jolla is also hosting a parade and holiday festival on the 5th of December in the downtown area. There will be horses, drill teams, and a marching band!

Holiday Attractions

Looking for a place to take the family? There will be a Santa Train in the North Pole Limited! Take the kids to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. Or, visit Winter Wonder at Belmont Park to see a holiday experience with many beautiful sculptures and other winter themed activities.
