Busy Weekend of Things to do in Encinitas

As the sun sets on August the are plenty of stars to catch this weekend! I love writing about things to do in Encinitas every weekend and this weekend is full of things to do all over the San Diego area! Looking for an outing to get you out of your Encinitas home? Die hard baseball fans know “it ain’t over till it’s over” so grab a seat and a hot dog or a cold beverage and head over to Petco Park to cheer for the San Diego Padres who welcome the Philadelphia Phillies for a weekend home stand. Game times are 7:05 pm tonight, 1:10 pm on Saturday and 1:05 on Sunday. A trip to the ballpark is a great day of family fun! Sunday’s game features promotional metal lunchboxes for the kids, a perfect and useful back to school treat!

For devoted gardeners and anyone who wishes their thumbs were greener, why not take a day trip to the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas. From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm you can take part in a free composting workshop where you can learn the “how to’s” of vermicomposting (using worms to do the work). Take the kids to see this interesting and fun demonstration which will be held near the Seeds of Wonder Children’s garden. Composting bins and worm bins will be for sale after the workshop. After the demo you can spend the day at the garden for an afternoon of educational family fun!

If a night of sweet mellow music is more your style check out Michael Buble performing tonight at the San Diego Sports Arena. Buble’s Grammy Award winning musical style is sure to stir up some romance in your life and an ideal way to treat the one you love to a magical evening. Showtime for this performance is 8:00 pm. Metal Heads and rockers alike will rise up and fist pump the night away as the American Carnage tour descends on the the Cricket Amphitheater on Saturday August 28th. This awesome all ages metal tour features Slayer and Megadeath and is guaranteed to be an adrenaline packed evening. There is always a wide variety of things to do in the area, so get out of your houses in Encinitas and don’t let this activity filled weekend pass you by!
