Delicious Green Bean Casserole Recipe for Thanksgiving Dinner

I can’t believe how close we are getting to Thanksgiving in Encinitas! I have been busy getting my house ready for my dinner guests next Thursday, and I’d like to provide another recipe for a green bean casserole that is a must-have for Thanksgiving dinner. Nothing says Thanksgiving like casseroles, like my sweet potato casserole recipe I wrote about the other day, and I cook this green bean casserole recipe every Thanksgiving. It’s a delicious recipe that is a staple of Thanksgiving dinners, and it’s also quite easy to make and extremely inexpensive as well. Most important of all though will be the satisfaction you will get from your happily fed guests!

This green bean casserole recipe feeds about 5 or 6 guests much like I portioned out with the sweet potato casserole, so plan accordingly with the portions if you are hosting a larger party this Thanksgiving. What you’ll need for this recipe are:

  • 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup (My favorite is Campbell’s Soup, but the choice is up to you)
  • ½ Cup of Skim Milk
  • Dash of Pepper
  • 4 Cups of Cooked Green Beans (Can be Fresh, Frozen, or Canned, but must be Cooked)
  • 1 Can of Fried Onions
  • ¼ Cup of Diced Red Bell Pepper and Yellow Pepper
  1. Start with a Large Mixing Bowl and Pour the entire Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  2. Add the Milk to the Bowl
  3. Sprinkle a dash of Pepper into the Bowl
  4. Add the 4 Cups of Cooked Green Beans to the Bowl (Be sure to Drain the Green Beans if you are using Canned Green Beans)
  5. Add half of the Can of Fried Onions to the Bowl (You’ll use the other half later on in the Recipe)
  6. Add the ¼ cup of Red and Yellow Pepper – this will add Lovely Fall Colors to the Dish and it Tastes Wonderful!)
  7. Stir Everything together with a Spatula or Wooden Spoon and Place into a Casserole Dish
  8. Cook in Your Oven at 350 Degrees for about 25 Minutes
  9. Once Cooked for 25 Minutes, Take the rest of the Can of Fried Onions and Sprinkle Across the Top of the Casserole for a Crunchy Topping
  10. Put the Casserole Back in the Oven for about 5 Minutes to Brown the Top
  11. Sit Back and Watch Your Guests Dig in to your special Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole!

This dish is just one of the many Thanksgiving recipes I am publishing on my blog. So if you are planning on having your family or friends over for Thanksgiving at your Encinitas house, keep coming back to my blog for more recipes to complete your Thanksgiving dinner planning before Thursday!
