Designer-Approved Thanksgiving Hosting Tips

Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Nervous? It is always nerve-wracking to have the pressure of hosting this particular holiday because of its prep time and its tendency to cause chaos. I found some great advice of last minute tips for entertaining family and friends on Thanksgiving.

The first tip the interior designer gives is to set up the bar outside! This way your guests can enjoy the fall weather and they will stay out of your kitchen as well. This will give you space to finish cooking. Instead of using up your dishes on the appetizers, put some hot soup in mugs for an appetizer. You don’t want to have to wash dishes right before the main meal!

Don’t be afraid to mix and match fine china with other more casual accents. Also, mix and match different sized candles and gather them together to create a focal point on the table. A white linen table cloth is always the best way to go according to another interior designer.

My favorite tip has to be placing some clove-pierced oranges in a bowl for a pretty center piece that makes the entire room smell like the holiday season.
