Encinitas Summer Tips

Part one in a series of summer tips from an Encinitas Realtor, these Encinitas Realtor tips will help you learn about how you can stay occupied during the summer, how to photograph fireworks, and much more.

Applying sunscreen is important for those long days out on the beach in Encinitas or when you are out looking for homes for sale in Encinitas. Whether you are hitting the pool, beach, amusement parks, or other outdoor entertainment make sure that you apply a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays, is water-resistant, and has a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30.

If you have children you may want to consider implementing an “I’m bored” jar filled with summer activities that they can partake in with everything from playing catch to going to the pool or the park to chores and projects you need done around the house like painting or cleaning. In fact, this is a great way to combat your own summer boredom as well.

Taking up a hobby like photography is a great way to get more out of your summer vacation. You can take pictures of people at the beach (with their permission of course), Encinitas real estate that catches your eye, or fireworks. Some equipment you will need to take good pictures of fireworks include:

  • An SLR or point-and-shoot camera
  • A tripod to prevent blur caused by motion
  • A flash light so that you can see the settings of the camera in the dark

You may also want to consider a wireless trigger, which will help you prevent camera shake. With the number of fireworks displays in the San Diego area this year, you will have multiple opportunities to try your hand at this new skill.
