Since 1921 the Bates Nut Farm located in Valley Center has been a a classic destination for San Diego Residents. Their offering of both raw and roasted nuts combined with plenty of home made candy and fruit treats makes this a perfect all in one stop for all you holiday needs. Included in the activities available for children are tractor hay rides, a straw maze and interactive petting corral. If you looking for a bit of a country drive the town of Fallbrook plays host to Lavender Hill Pumpkins located at 1509 East Mission Road Fallbrook, CA. The family owned and tended farm provides a natural and very tranquil setting to wander among the rows of pumpkins and gourds that are offered there. Summer’s Past Farm, located at 15602 Olde Hwy 80 Flinn Springs, CA is another family owned farm featuring a wonderful pumpkin patch complete with a nursery, herbal garden gift shop and coffee bar. They offer activities for youngsters including hay rides animal petting and a fun jump this Sunday. If staying in the city happens to be more to you liking there are several more urban pumpkin patches offered by the Pumpkin Station, with locations in National City, El Cajon, Mission Valley, Rancho Bernardo and Chula Vista. With all these choices you will no doubt find the perfect pumpkin to creatively carve your selection into a prize winning a jack-o-lantern!
