Things to do in Encinitas this Weekend

With September marking the transition of the summer season there are plenty of fun and memorable entertainment choices to take in this weekend. Music lovers will rejoice the Beach Boys are back in town! Their unique California based surfer sound originated in 1961 and remains as one of our cultural icons today! Catch the wave of this show tonight Friday 9/1/0 at Humphreys concerts by the bay at 7:30 PM. If old school rock and roll is more your style then you will definitely want to stop by and relive the 70’s and 80’s with the music of Eddie Money. Eddie performs at 4th and B in San Diego this evening 9/10 at 8:00 pm. The non stop nostalgia continues with Air Supply descending on Humphreys concerts by the bay Saturday 9/11 at 8:00 pm. Their mellow Aussie ballads will bring back memories of a time before cell phones! If you are up for a romantic road trip, a performance by Michael Bolton might just be the ticket. Grammy award winning artist Bolton brings his popular love songs to the Viejas Casino in Alpine California on Sunday 9/12 at 8:00 pm. Those who savor the flavor of micro brewed beer are in for a real treat as the 16th annual San Diego Beer festival runs this Friday 9/10 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm featuring over 60 breweries showcasing over 150 craft beers. The festival is located downtown at Columbia and B streets. The 100 percent volunteer-driven festival is organized by San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC), a San Diego nonprofit comprised of local professionals who volunteer their time to generate monies for cancer research, patient treatment and services. Lastly, for all the die hard baseball fans out there, the San Diego Padres welcome the San Francisco Giants this weekend to PetCo Park for a pair of home games on Saturday 9/11 and Sunday 9/12. Game time for this Saturday is 4:35 pm and Sunday’s game begins at 12:05 pm. School might be back in session but you can certainly take a recess from your Encinitas home to sing, cheer or drink a beer!
