I have been thinking about you. My friend Dan in Utah, a professional sales executive, has been trying to sell his mother's home through a "sell it yourself" program. He has been at it unsuccessfully for over 11 months. Remember when I tried to sell my mother's home on Elmbranch Drive. I tried the same thing and failed miserably. The people coming to my open houses were either not qualified or bottom feeders.
As my long time friend, you offered good advice and encouragement, but my frustration level just grew as I just kept paying the mortgage payments, utilities and taxes with no sales success. During our home sale, I feel that Linda was the best agent for the job. I feel that there is a strong possibility that other agents would not have been able to close the sale, but Linda guided the novice selling agent through the process with ease. We had to sell at a price that was representative of the market, but, probably like all sellers, was much lower than we expected. Linda was very upfront with us about this and her estimate about five months prior to sale was pretty spot on.
