Plays this Summer at the La Jolla Playhouse

If you’re in the mood to see a classic play, Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is showing near your La Jolla home at the La Jolla Playhouse from July 20th through August 22nd. Midsummer Night’s Dream is an old classic comedy and has inspired many plays, books, and movies since it was written hundreds of years ago. All of Shakespeare’s work was way ahead of its time and continues to be turned into awesome movies and books. If you plan on seeing the play at the La Jolla Playhouse or already have seen one of Shakespeare’s plays, you already know how much fun attending a theater for a play is.

There is a cool musical coming to the San Diego Civic Theatre from July 6th to the 11th. The play, Avenue Q The Musical, is a funny homage to the childrens show, Sesame Street. However, Avenue Q The Musical is not intended for children by any means. It contains plenty of adult humor despite it being entirely a puppet show. The play was written by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and debuted in 2002. It has won many awards since and has been played on and off Broadway.

The Shakespeare play at the La Jolla playhouse is a great opportunity to take your kids to see a classic. There are many awesome opportunities at both the Civic Theatre and the Playhouse for you to introduce your children to an appropriate show. Don’t be afraid, however, to leave your kids in your San Diego home (with a baby sitter) every once in a while and attend something along the lines of Avenue Q The Musical.
