Encinitas Holiday Parade

Encinitas is wonderful beach town that still retains its small town feeling. I love this community and the people are all warm and giving. I truly am blessed to live here and have such wonderful friends. It was truly felt last night at the Annual Holiday Parade here in downtown Encinitas. It was great to see all the children and adults having a great time and coming together to share the xmas spirit. And what a beautiful way to enjoy the holiday cheer with a lavish and fun loving parade and avoiding the freezing cold weather.

The Encinitas Holiday Parade will take place along the coast of Highway 101 beginning at the corner of D Street and will finish at J Street. There will be over 80 entries in this year’s parade, including floats, marching bands, children’s groups, specialty cars and patriotic organizations. With the theme of “Home for the Holidays” this year’s parade promises to be a night filled with joyous memories.

The Encinitas Holiday Parade will be held this year on Saturday December 1, beginning with tree lighting at the Lumberyard Courtyard, a retail shopping center (on the coast highway, Route 101, at the south end of the downtown area) at 5:00 PM. This is the largest community event in Encinitas.

The highlight of the evening is, of course, the parade, with about 3200 children participating, along with floats, marching bands, specialty cars and a variety of sponsoring organizations; the parade begins at 5:30 PM. This is not the 50th year of the event since it was halted for a period of time, but it IS a celebration of the first one 50 years ago.
