Enjoy Halloween Festivities in Encinitas

Safe Trick-or-Treat

From 5-8pm on October 31st, Highway 101 will be transformed into “Pumpkin Lane” between Encinitas Blvd and K Street. The Self Realization Fellowship monks will place hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins on display to welcome trick-or-treaters, and dozens of local merchants will be handing out Halloween treats for kids.

 

Halloween Movie Showings

La Paloma Theatre is now showing “Grandma”, “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension”, and “rocky Horror Picture Show”.

The Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library is providing a free Dinner and a Movie night on October 28th at 6 pm: join for a screening of “Pan’s Labyrinth”!

Activities

Encinitas Dia de Los Muertos takes place on November 1st from 1-5 pm at the Encinitas Community Center on 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive. It’s free to attend, and features a contest for the best skull makeup, performance by Latin trio Besos de Coco and Mariachi Divinas, and Por Siempre Car Club with Ofrendas in car trunks.

Make a free Halloween craft at the Encinitas Branch Library on 540 Cornish Drive on October 28 from 3:30-4:30 pm.

The Cardiff Library is also offering a free sugar-skull making event for teens to celebrate the Day of the Dead during Teen Read Week! Call 760-753-4027 to reserve your skull in advance.
