If an evening stroll coupled with browsing art galleries, museums and fine dining piques your interest, be sure to check out the downtown Escondido Art Walk taking place Saturday August 14th from 2:00 to 9:00 pm all along Grand Avenue. Here you can browse many unique and interesting establishments dedicated to local artists.

It’s hard to believe that football season is already upon us! On Saturday, August 14th the Monsters of the Midway Chicago Bears visit the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium for what promises to be a hard hitting and exciting preseason football match up. Kickoff is at 6:00 pm.

Music lovers will feast on this weekends line up of star power spanning the musical map from Blues to Pop!

If the Blues stir up your the muddy waters of your soul, then the double bill of legendary guitarists B.B. King and Buddy Guy will without a doubt serve up a non stop, heart pounding, soul stirring performance truly not to be missed. There is speculation the BB may not tour for too much longer so this could be your last chance to see him live in the San Diego area. The concert is Saturday at the Open Sky Theater located at Harrah’s Rincon Casino in Valley Center, CA. Showtime is 8:00 pm and tickets are still available. Complete your evening with a night of fine dining, gaming or dancing in the Casino itself….better yet stay the weekend!

If mellow acoustical moods describe your musical taste be sure to check out Natalie Merchant at the historic Spreckles Theatre, located in downtown San Diego. This venue, opened in 1912, provides an truly intimate performance space with seating for only 1400 patrons. Since her beginnings as the lead singer for 10,000 Maniacs, Natalie has delighted audiences with sultry vocals. Seeing her in this unique, historic, very up close and personal setting is like having Natalie perform in your own living room! Showtime for Natalie Merchant is 8:00 pm and tickets are still available.

If you need motivation to depart your Encinitas Home there is much to do this weekend! Getting out and seeing the art of Escondido, enjoying the variety of sounds of B.B. King/Buddy Guy, Natalie Merchant or the roar of the Chargers fans will beat the cushions right off your couch!
