Low Inventory- Is Now the Time to Sell?

While the pace of the housing market has  slowed since 2020, it is still a seller’s market. Why is not? For starters, inventory is still low. The less homes there are, the more competition exists amongst buyers. If inventory is low in your area, it could be the perfect time to sell. Take a closer look at these tips to know if it is the right time to sell your home!

Is Now the Right Time to Sell?

Before you can consider selling your home, you should consider a few key points:

  • How Long Will You Stay in the Area? If you are looking to retire and move elsewhere, or simply do not want to stay in the area for more than five years, it may be time to sell. Consider the length of time you have spent in the area and whether or not it is time to move on! If you do want to stay, by all means, keep your home the way it is.
  • Are You Looking to Take Advantage of the Market? While it may sound harsh, a lot of sellers are simply taking advantage of the market and making money off of the sale of their home. Then, they use this money to purchase another home, and potentially downsize. Inventory is low in most areas, which means you can often take advantage of the market and get a decent price for your home if it is desirable. Whatever your current situation is, it may be best to consult your realtor and ask for some advice!

Consult Your Realtor

If you are considering the possibility of selling your home, you may not know what the “right time” is. And that is okay! The best thing you can do in that situation is to ask yourself the right question and consider the pros and cons of moving. In some cases, the best thing you can do is to consult your Realtor or real estate agent ask for advice. Look for someone that knows the market well and can offer the most experienced based advice you can find.
