New Year’s Eve 2012 in Encinitas

Now that Christmas is over it is time to focus on the final big holiday of 2012, New Year’s Eve. For those living in Encinitas homes there is a plethora of activities and events in the city for both family and adults alike. Here are a few ways you can spend your New Year’s Eve in Encinitas.

  • The Sheraton Carlsbad Resort will be hosting a throwback-themed New Year’s Eve party in the style of the Roaring 20s. Get your best zoot-suit on and prepare to do the Charleston all night long at this family-friendly event that will feature drinks, dancing, a DJ, and dessert bar for the adults and a Kids Party Zone that will feature a gamer room, face painting, and other games and goodies.
  • The highly entertaining rockabilly band Reverend Horton Heat will be playing at the Belly Up Tavern for those looking to experience some high-energy rock n roll for the New Year. Tickets can be found online at the Belly Up Tavern website.
  • For those interested in ringing in 2013 with some amazing food, Herringbone will have a special dinner menu prepared by Top Chef alumnus Amanda Baumgarten, as well as a caviar and champagne service.
  • Before you go out to ring in the New Year you may want to stop by the Seaside Center for Spiritual Living in Encinitas where from 7 to 8:30pm the center will be holding a burning bowl ceremony. This ceremony will involve getting rid of past regrets by symbolically burning pieces of paper with past experiences written on them so that you can begin 2013 with a clean slate. The event is free and doesn’t require any reservations.
