See the 15th Annual Holiday Lights at Del Mar

We are just a few weeks from Christmas now as you can tell by the increased amounts of houses in Encinitas that are decorated with bright and colorful lights for the holidays. I know a lot of families in San Diego County enjoy going out and seeing holiday lights whether just driving around the neighborhood or going to a specific event. Well, if you just can’t wait for this Thursday for the opening of the Garden of Lights at the San Diego Botanic Garden, then perhaps a trip to Del Mar will ease your appetite for holiday lights this year!

The Del Mar Fairgrounds is now currently holding their 15th Annual Holiday of Lights at Del Mar, boasting the largest display of holiday lights on the West coast. You and your family will marvel at over 400 animated scenes all brightly lit and heavily detailed. There will be live holiday music sung and plenty of fire pits for you and your family to cook some fresh hot s’mores in. Every Friday night there will be a hayride, and complimentary holiday cookie and hot chocolate or hot cider will be served for those who take a hayride! This is by far the most spectacular display of holiday lights in San Diego County, and possible in all California so you must make this a destination for you and your family if you just love Christmas lights and holiday lights this time of year!

The 15th Annual Holiday of Lights at Del Mar is currently running through January 2, 2011 and the party starts at 5:30 pm once the sun goes down. Even though the Holiday of Lights at Del Mar has been going on for 15 years now, it is also a perfect opportunity for you and your family to make it a new holiday tradition. So if you are looking for a holiday lights spectacle of epic proportions, grab your family and get out of your Encinitas house and head to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for the best holiday lights show you’ll ever see!
