Encinitas Realtor: News for September 2012

As an Encinitas Realtor I love to share the latest news in Encinitas with you. As a resident of Encinitas since 1977 and an Encinitas Realtor since 1990, I absolutely adore this town and feel that is important to my job to help clients see the sense of community that we have in our town. Here is some of the most recent news in Encinitas for the second week of September 2012.

If you live in Encinitas and enjoy football then you are probably a fan of the San Diego Chargers, and if you are a fan of the team you may know that yesterday they were provided with an extension that will expire today at 1:25pm to sell 2,100 tickets in order for their game against the Tennessee Titans to be broadcast Sunday. The NFL requires that teams sell all but their most expensive seats at least 72 hours before kickoff in order for the game to appear on television in that team’s market. If you buy a ticket to the game before 1:30pm today you will not only get to watch the game but may also make it possible for others to watch from home as well.

Unfortunately, the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya killed four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador, and two of those individuals were ex-Navy Seals from Encinitas and Imperial Beach. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recounted the service of Glen A. Doherty and Tyrone Woods on Wednesday. My thoughts and condolences go out to the families of these brave men during this time of grieving.

In much lighter news, SPY, the Carlsbad company that is promoting it’s new Happy Lens sunglasses, has a new billboard that is perhaps a bit less suggestive than the previous billboard, which stated “Happy to Sit on Your Face.” The new billboard states, “Happiness is Coming” and the sunglasses will be released in the next few months.
