Fun Weekend in Encinitas Ahead

Weekends in Encinitas are always full of fun and interesting things to do and this weekend is certainly no exception. I like to give my readers a few things to do in Encinitas over the weekend, and I’m certain you’ll have lots of fun no matter what you do!  Street fairs are a great way to get out of your Encinitas home and enjoy the the beautiful weather and there are a few to choose from.

The Mira Mesa Street Fair takes place Saturday September 25th from 10:00am to 4:30pm and features a host of crafters, vendors, entertainment on two stages and carnival activities geared toward children. If a musical extravaganza is more to you liking then you have to check out the 29th annual Adams Avenue Street Fair, touted as Southern California’s largest free music festival showcasing 60 talented musical acts of all genres on six individual stages. This eight block long entertainment mecca also features plenty of food, beverages and local vendors The event kicks off on Saturday September 25th from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and runs Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. This is a not to be missed experience!

If Frisbee is on your list of pastime activities, you will be delighted and amazed at the athleticism displayed at the California State Flying Disc Championship happening on Saturday September 25th at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. Come see the world’s best Frisbee players compete in Disc Golf, Freestyle and DDC(the Frisbee version of Tennis). Frisbee Dog demonstrations and a hole in one contest featuring a $25,000.00 grand prize. You can embrace the cow boy/girl inside you on on Saturday September 25th as the 38th annual Poway Rodeo comes back for a day filled with excitement, a battle of the bands and a dance to follow. The event starts at 1:00 pm till the cows come home!

While you’re in a country state of mind you can check out someof the concerts happening in and around the San Diego Area. Old school performer Willie Nelson appears at Harrah’s Rincon Open Sky Theater in Valley Center on Sunday 9/26 at 7:00 pm. On the other hand if your in town you can throw back to the 80’s with the reggae spiced sounds of UB 40 performing over at Humphreys concerts by the bay on Sunday 9/26 at 8:00 pm. Either way the weather will be perfect for listening under the stars!

For professional and college sports fans alike this weekend promises to be an exciting one if you are in the mood to turn off the TV in your Encinitas home and get out and see the action live! The San Diego Padres welcome the Cincinnati Reds this Saturday 9/25 as the boys of summer gear up for the post season. What a great way to spend the afternoon into the evening under the lights! Game time is 4:35 pm. On Sunday 9/25 the San Diego State Aztec’s battle the Utah State Aggie’s in a thrilling college match up over at the QualComm Stadium. Kickoff is at 5:00 pm. The cameras will be rolling so don your college colors and cheer our home team to victory!
