Gorgeous Eclectic Modern Home in San Diego

You all positively have to see these pictures of this beautiful home owned by restaurateur David Contreras Curiel! San Diego Magazine covered Curiel’s wonderful design of his gorgeous new home, photographing all the main living spaces. Just in case you haven’t heard of him, Curiel is the co-owner of the Mexican seafood restaurant empire called Karina’s and, yes, that also includes our very own Karina’s Taco Shop right here in Encinitas.

His living room features a Carrera marble fireplace which absolutely defines the entire room. The room contains a lot of vibrant white but scattered throughout it are pops of bright colors. Curiel told the magazine that he has mirrors in almost every room because they make the spaces look much bigger. His kitchen is dominated by dark red cabinets which are offset by large amounts of natural light that comes from the windows and skylight. The countertops are made of black quartz and the floor tiles of porcelain.

My favorite part of the home is the resort-like back patio which looks like it is paradise on earth. There is a 5 by 10-foot swimming pool with a poolside flat screen along with a full bar and outdoor kitchen. How cool does that sound? There is also a separate guest suite which has a large glass garage door which opens up onto the patio. Man, would I love to have a back patio like that!

Don’t take my word for it. You absolutely need to check out the pictures for yourself!
