On Wednesday March 5th in Carlsbad, the first-annual North County Economic Summit will create discussion about the growing business in San Diego County’s Northern region, according to the San Diego Union-Times.
The focus of the event will be real estate and high technology. Names like speaker Josh Williams, who is the president of BW research and Mark Vitner, who is the senior economist with Wells Fargo will be providing attendees with the State of the Region report.
This first annual summit will be held tomorrow between 7 a.m. to 10:30 am at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa.
As a nonprofit group dedicated to sprouting the region’s economy, this summit is sponsored and presented by the San Diego North Economic Development Council. In recent years, mayors have made efforts to increase the profile of the region. They have also tried to draw interest of more business along North County’s State Route 78 Corridor.
The tickets are $45 and include copies of the reports that will be a part of the summit. Participants also will receive a breakfast with admission
While attendees will obtain a picture of what the present situation of economic conditions are, but the real estate panel will also provide a look to the current year and into the future outlook. The panel will have city managers from Oceanside, San Marcos and Encinitas and also leaders of private development from across the region provide information.
The high technology panel, run by San Diego Union-Times staff writer Bradley Fikes will be in the summit, while in the second panel, in regards to the real estate landscape and the economic development, this will be moderated by executive editor of the San Diego Business Journal Reo Carr.
The high technology panel will go over the odds and ends for the North County’s industry expansion. These panelists include Phil Jordan, applied research and lead author on technology innovation, Jason Blain, the CEO of Spinal Elements, Simon Kuo, the vice president of corporate Quality at Via sat and head of National University System Institute for Policy Research Erik Bruvold.
