San Diego Big Bay Boom

As an Encinitas Realtor I try to make sure that I keep up with local activities and news. As an Encinitas Realtor it is important to me that I also share this information with those who live in the San Diego area; but I didn’t think as I watched the fireworks this holiday that it would become national news.

When I suggested a few places where you could check out fireworks in San Diego I didn’t assume that the Big Bay Boom would be as memorable as it was this year.

On the Fourth of July the fireworks display, which was intended to last approximately 18 minutes, went off 5 minutes before schedule and lasted about 18 seconds. All of the fireworks went up at one time and, although it was indeed what they promised of being “more intense than in past years” many of the 500,000 in attendance were extremely disappointed.

Garden State Fireworks, the company in charge of the display, stated that they would do whatever they needed to to rectify the situation including coming back for another display and not charging for it. Whether that means that they will do so relatively soon or do the fireworks display for next year free remains to be seen, but rest assured that I will keep you up to date on any developments.
