Encinitas Requests Residents’ Input for Parks & Recreation Planning

If you are a resident of Encinitas, you may have received a 22-question survey in the mail regarding Parks, Beaches, Trails, and Open Space. The survey was mailed to 3,500 randomly selected residents in April. Now, the same survey is open to all residents and businesses in Encinitas. The city requests your help to develop a plan for the area’s public recreational spaces. The survey is accessible here. A Spanish-language version is also available.

Data from this survey will be used to aid in the development of a Master Plan for parks, beaches, trails, and open space in Encinitas. The city of Encinitas has contracted the independent firm GreenPlay to assist with this project. Finalized plans and their implementation will ultimately be subject to the discretion and approval of Encinitas’ Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council. Participation in the survey is encouraged to ensure that actions reflect the needs and desires of the community as a whole.

Raw data from the survey will be presented at a community meeting on Monday, June 20th. For more information about this project, visit the Encinitas city website.
