Top Haunted Flicks To Bring Home the Dead!

Now that you have gotten out of the coffin and into the streets of the living dead, it’s time to cozy up to the fireplace with your favorite haunted movie. Break out dark hot chocolate and ghastly marshmallows and wrap yourself up before the TV to experience some of the classics in horror films along with some recent remakes. Lock your doors, turn off the lights and turn your Encinitas home into a crypt with your loved ones, pets, or neighbors, while entering the twilight zone of imagination. Here is a list of the top 5 classics for you to enjoy for the fall holiday.

5. Nosferatu – 1922 – Vampire Count Orlok expresses interest in a new residence and real estate agent Hutter’s wife. Silent classic based on the story “Dracula.” As an Encinitas home real estate agent, Count Orlok would the nightmare I avoid EVERY night! This may be an extra scare for me this Halloween.

4. Diabolique – 1955 – The wife of a cruel headmaster and his mistress conspire to kill him, but after the murder is committed, his body disappears, and strange events begin to plague the two women.

3. The Shining – 1980 – My personal favorite. While watching the Overlook Hotel and Resort in the winter mountains, the Torrence family is plagued by the crimes of its past caregivers, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

2. Alien – 1979 – A mining ship, investigating a suspected SOS, lands on a distant planet. The crew discovers some strange creatures and investigates. This one is so popular it may not even be scary anymore, but definitely enjoyable to recite along with your favorite stars.

1. Psycho – 1960 – Another Favorite. Running away from life, the young woman stops at a desolate motel only to find the psychotic owner plagued by the control of his mother.

Keeping busy with the classics for tonight, stay tuned into the blog for tomorrow’s post of top 5 remakes and recent horror films. Before the sun goes down and you turn into the vampire, fly over to Encinitas for your look at homes by Coldwell Banker’s Real Estate Agent Linda Moore.
