San Diego Comic Con 2012

It’s that time of year for San Diego Comic Con, and the benefit of buying homes for sale in Encinitas from an Encinitas Realtor is that you have easy access to one of the biggest conventions in the world.

Every year since 1970, Comic-Con has been held in San Diego and has grown to become a large part of popular culture. The convention began with its focus primarily on comic books but has expanded its perview in the years following its foundation to include movies, television shows, and more.

Badges and tickets to the 4-day event held July 12th through the 15th (with a Preview Night held July 11th) sell out well in advance of the event each year so if you are interested in attending it certainly does not hurt to register as soon as possible.

Panels and events included in this year’s convention include everything from previews of upcoming films such as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Pacific Rim to panels on television shows like True Blood and The Walking Dead to workshops on the latest creative technology and how to use it.

Of particular note this year will be The Walking Dead Escape at Petco Park, where “Survivors” will have to tackle an obstacle course and escape from “Walkers” (zombies). Walk-up tickets are available for “Survivors” and “Spectators” though tickets for “Walkers” have sold out, so even if you can’t get into Comic-Con this year you can at least participate in some way.

To view all of the events for the weekend you can visit the San Diego Comic-Con website.
